We found the small house Elvis grew up in it is only about 400 sq. feet only has 2 rooms and since they were so poor when Elvis was 13 they sold all their belonings and headed to Memphis Tennessee and therefore the material things in this house is a replica as to what they would of had. We also learned that Elvis came back to Tupelo once his singing career was under way to do a concert and he drove by this little house he grew up in and seen it was going to be sold so he bought it and asked that they make it a park and he would donate all of the money from the concert towards the perservation of his house and the land around it, he had lived real close to a church when he grew up and that is there today as well.
